Introduction

Welcome to CV LevelUp ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our resume building service.

Information We Do Not Store

CV Export Data: We want to be absolutely clear that we do not store any information from the CVs or resumes you export from our service. When you export a CV as a PDF:

  • The PDF generation happens in your browser and on our secure servers
  • Once the PDF is generated and downloaded to your device, we do not retain a copy
  • The content of your CV is not stored, analyzed, or used for any purpose after export
  • We do not have access to the exported files once they are on your device

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information

If you create an account, we collect information such as your name and email address. This information is used to manage your account and provide our services.

Resume Content

While you use our service, we temporarily store the content you input into our resume builder to provide you with the ability to edit and update your resume. This data is associated with your account if you are logged in. However, as stated above, we do not store or retain any information from exported CVs.

Usage Information

We collect information about how you use our service, including:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent)
  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Feature usage (which templates you use, how often you export)

How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our service
  • To notify you about changes to our service
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features
  • To provide customer support
  • To gather analysis or valuable information to improve our service
  • To monitor the usage of our service
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues

Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

Depending on your location, we process personal data under the following legal bases: consent; performance of a contract (to provide the Service); legitimate interests (e.g., to secure, maintain, and improve the Service); compliance with legal obligations; and, where applicable, protection of vital interests.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you block cookies, some features may not work properly.

We may embed third-party widgets or identity services (for example, Google Sign-In and Trustpilot widgets) that may set their own cookies subject to their privacy policies.

Third-Party Processors

We may engage service providers to operate and improve the Service (e.g., hosting, authentication, email, analytics, and customer support). These providers process personal data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.

Sharing and Disclosure

  • With vendors and service providers acting as processors;
  • For legal compliance, safety, and to protect rights;
  • In connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition) subject to safeguards;
  • With your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by applicable laws (e.g., CPRA). We also do not knowingly permit third parties to collect personal information through our Service for their own direct marketing purposes without your consent.

International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access the Service from the EEA, UK, or other regions with laws governing data collection and use, please note that we may transfer, store, and process your information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies.

As previously stated, we do not retain any information from exported CVs.

Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access your information and receive a copy
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Erase your information, in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to processing, including for direct marketing
  • Data portability, to obtain your data in a usable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

California Privacy Rights (CPRA)

  • Right to know/access, including specific pieces of personal information
  • Right to delete personal information
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out of sales and sharing of personal information
  • Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

To exercise your rights, contact us at dcsoftwaresolutionsllc@gmail.com. We may take steps to verify your request. You may authorize an agent to act on your behalf where permitted by law.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer Do Not Track (DNT) signals or Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where required by law, we honor valid GPC signals as an opt-out preference for sales/sharing of personal information (which we do not engage in as noted above). Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, we do not respond to DNT signals.

Automated Decision-Making and AI

The Service may provide automated suggestions (e.g., formatting or content guidance) to assist you in building your resume/CV. These features are optional and are intended to support, not replace, your judgment. We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.

DC Software Solutions LLC is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service, unless stated otherwise. You can contact us using the details below.
